What is lake manistee?

Lake Manistee is a man-made reservoir located in the northwest part of the lower peninsula of Michigan, USA. The reservoir was created in 1967 by the construction of the Tippy Dam on the Manistee River and is operated by Consumers Energy. The lake encompasses 4,500 acres and has a maximum depth of 23 feet. The lake is a popular spot for fishing, with species such as Chinook salmon, steelhead, rainbow trout, and brown trout being commonly caught. The surrounding area provides opportunities for camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The lake is also used for hydroelectric power generation and helps to regulate water levels on the river downstream.
